‘Golden’ victory for the Lady Falcons

Fall is here again, and with it comes all the exciting action of fall sports. Though this season will be full of hard-hitting football, fast-paced soccer, and full-speed cross country, don’t overlook this year’s amazing lady Falcons volleyball team.

On the heels of last year’s successful season, these ladies are ready for a tremendous year. Despite an early loss, the team came together to beat their next two opponents, Sacramento Lutheran, and Golden Sierra.

Senior captain Gina Carrasco has a positive outlook on the rest of the season: "The team is really coming together after our victory over Golden Sierra. We’re really starting to play as a team."

The Falcons played an amazing game against the talented Golden Sierra team, which senior Pam Marshall called, "our best game ever."

The talented squad this year is headed by senior captains Gina Carrasco and Christie Farrell, backed by outstanding playing from all the girls. The varsity crew even has two sophomores, Julie Moniz and Erica Pascuzzi, and freshman Allison Heine contributing their considerable talents to the team.

Along with the stellar varsity squad we have very competitive junior varsity and freshman girls that are looking to come out on top in the Metro League. Both the junior varsity and freshman teams also beat Golden Sierra, giving CB a clean sweep. The future looks bright for all the girl’s volleyball teams and this season looks to be full of competitive and exciting games.
