Cheerleaders flip with spirit |

What
makes the schools sports events so spirited? Is it the fourth-down-and-goal play to
win the football game? The three-pointer with no time left in the basketball game? The
grand slam to put the Falcons on top in baseball? NO!!! All of these are great to see and
experience, but the people who make these moments so much more meaningful are the
cheerleaders of CB.
The cheerleaders raise the schools spirit when its down,
and get the fans excited when the teams succeed. Although this years squad is
smaller than in previous years, what the girls lack in numbers, they make up for in
enthusiasm. "We are always at all the games and always have fun," said varsity
cheerleader Jennifer Morris. There are also freshman and JV cheerleading squads, with
three girls in each group.
One quality that stands out among all the cheerleaders is their sense of unity.
"Were all very close with one another," said senior Stephanie Palacios.
This unity is built upon the long period of time the squad had spent together. They attend
a cheerleading camp during the summer, and upon returning to school, they practice for
three hours, and learn new dance moves almost every day. The cheerleaders will be cheering
all year long and they hope to see everyone at games and rallies cheering them on. |
