Accelerated German I |

course is similar in content to German I. Topics will be more in-depth, with an attempt to
master them more comprehensively than the regular German I course. Students will be moving
into the ACTFL proficiency rating of "intermediate low." Accelerated German is
intended for college preparatory students with a more ambitious desire to fulfill college
requirements by taking the Advanced Placement exam in the senior year. Fulfills U.C.
"e" and C.S.U. subject requirement. |

continuation of the first year of German with further development of language skills

This
course is intended to complete the ACTFL proficiency rating of "intermediate
low" and begin to bring the student into the "intermediate mid" level.
Accelerated German II is intended for the college preparatory student with a more
ambitious desire to fulfill college requirements by taking the Advanced Placement Exam in
the senior year. Fulfills U.C. "e" and C.S.U. subject requirement. |

Continued
study of the German language and culture, with emphasis on the finer points of structure
and a more intense effort to improve communication skills. In addition, there are readings
in history and literature, with the goal of increasing vocabulary and sight-reading
skills. Fulfills U.C. "f" and C.S.U. elective requirement. |

Honors German III |

This is
the third year of the accelerated program preparing students for the German Advanced
Placement Examination in the senior year. Emphasis is placed on completing the basic
grammar, as well as intensive work on furthering the writing, speaking, listening, and
reading skills of the student. Fulfills U.C. "f" and C.S.U. elective
requirement. |

Continued
grammar study and development of listening and speaking skills. Continued in-depth reading
and writing development. Students completing this course should have a firm foundation in
the language and the ability to understand and speak on a more advanced level. Fulfills

Advanced Placement German |

This is
an honors course and is an intense and in-depth program preparing students to take the
College Board Advanced Placement Examination at the end of the year. A final review of the
grammar is included, as well as consistent development of the reading, writing, listening,
and speaking skills. Fulfills U.C. "f" and C.S.U. elective requirement. |
