College Peer Counselor 5 Credits;
Semester
Open to Juniors and Seniors.

Prerequisite: A "B" or better in current English course, one teacher recommendation, ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality, approval of the College Counselor and Director of Guidance (after interview), and successful completion of 2-day training workshop: choice of June 3 & 4 or two days during the week before school starts in August. With College Counselor approval, may be repeated for credit (College Workshop is recommended, but not required).

After training, College Peer Counselors will assist in organizing the college and scholarship related materials in the College Counseling Center and will be available to assist other students with the following: Computer use of ExPAN, College View, and the Internet; obtaining and completing applications to colleges and for scholarships (including need-based, academic, leadership, community service, and athletic).

College Workshop 5 Credits;
Semester
Open to Seniors (Fall Semester ), Juniors (Spring Semester).
Learn and utilize the college search and decision making programs and materials available at CB, and in the community. Learn and practice the fine art of the college application process, including completing sample and actual applications and meeting with college representatives; search for college scholarships, and complete applications for these, too. This course will be offered outside of the regular school day. If there is sufficient interest, this course may also be offered at A set for Seniors during the Fall Semester. Also for any Junior who would like to be a College Peer Counselor during their Senior year.
